Oh, deer!!

Monday, December 21, 2015

A fun little doodled version of a deer. Cannot take credit for this idea/style/figure - I saw this on https://www.instagram.com/fayehallidayart/ and loved it so much that I knew I had to take a stab at drawing it. The end result looks really cool, but my hand hurt so much, and is still sore. Probably won't finish this one

Male with a bandana

Drawn on my plane ride from Chicago to LA for the start of my third-year winter break.

Skull with Charms Print

Currently working on a little project where this print will be available for a phone case, pillow case, laptop case, etc.

Crazy bird lady

My version of a crazy bird lady.

Preseason for cross country has a lot of downtime, so in one of the many days where we finished practice by 10am and had nothing to do for the rest of the day besides wait for dinner, I decided to explore the dorm's common area and found a quiet lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the south side of hyde park. I just enjoyed getting to sit for 3.5 hours and doodle away at this.

I love the intricacies that go into drawing animals and specific animal features, like reptile skin, the owl's eye, the feathers, and the bird skulls.

Drew this little sketch on the plane ride from Chicago to LA.

Caught my eye

Saturday, June 20, 2015

If you have seen my blog before, you should be familiar with the caption "quick sketch" by now, as that's the only kind of drawing I have time for anymore! I started drawing this on my plane ride back from Chicago to Los Angeles. Luckily I love sketching out some of my ideas, like this quick little drawing of hands around an eye in a dream-catcher. Another little detail that may not be so eye-catching (see what I did there?) are the snakes that act as the bone of the feathers. I love adding in animalistic features wherever I can, like the cat/snake pupil.
Hope that you enjoy my drawings, and if there are any tattoo requests, feel free to email me!

Ms. Rose

A very quick sketch from a very long time ago!

Roses are one of my favorite flowers to draw. They seem quite detailed and delicate to draw at first, but once you get the hang of it it's quite simple. It's just a matter of patience with the shading, because that to me is what makes the rose come alive, otherwise it's just a mess of curvy lines.
